Blood pressure is the amount of pressure generated when blood pumped out
from our heart. The range of normal blood pressure varies among individual and it is very wide. In fact high blood pressure is a status rather than a disease. Healthy adults may also have high blood pressure occasionally, especially during emotional or weather change. Therefore, it is necessary to have several measures on blood pressure at different time in order to obtain an accurate mesaure; the unit is millimeters of mercury (mmHg).
According to the World Health Organization, the normal range if blood
pressure is as follow:
| Below 139 / 89 | Normal Blood Pressure |
| 140 / 90 to 160 / 95 | Marginal Blood Pressure |
| Above 161 / 96 | High Blood Pressure |
