QHMS introduces the "HCV Service Card" & supports the medical needs of the elderly
Elderly Health Care Voucher Scheme has been rolled out for a period of time. However, many elderly people may not understand which services are entitled to Health Care Vouchers ("HCV"), or may not be clear which medical service provider accepts HCV. To cater the preventive healthcare needs of the elderly, QHMS has recently launched a new "60+ Flexi plans", which includes basic health checks and three customised health check items pertinent to elderly health concerns – osteoporosis, arthritis, and heart assessment. QHMS has also introduced the "HCV Service Card". QHMS has launched the "HCV Service Card" where elderly people can enquire their remaining balance of their HCV when they visit QHMS medical centres. Clinic staff can assist them in recording their remaining balance on the HCV Service Card as well as answer any questions relating to HCV. In addition, QHMS provides elderly people with other healthcare services such as Western medicine, traditional Chinese medicine, physiotherapy, and dental care. Next time when you visit QHMS Medical Center, feel free to enquire about your health care voucher balance and our related healthcare services.

Flat Feet
Do you easily suffer from painful feet after a long walk? Do you find excessive wearing from the inner part of your shoe heels? These signs may be related to flat feet. On the inner side of a healthy foot, there is a concave region called the "foot arch". As the characteristic of surfaces we walk varies, it is our foot arches to provide certain elasticity and torsion during walking and running, and apart from supporting the weight of the body while walking, the arches also help to avoid shock and maintain balance. For patients with flat feet, their inner foot arches have collapsed and do not form the shape of arches like healthy soles do while standing. Rather, their feet are flat and close to the ground. Flat feet are very common in children. With the increase of age or weight gain, a small percentage of adults may also develop flat feet due to various acquired factors.
