Hong Kong, 1 March 2021 – Since the outbreak of COVID-19, Quality HealthCare (QHMS) has been committed to providing professional medical services for people in Hong Kong. We have successively launched virus testing services, video consultations and various infection control practices in addition to supporting a series of government initiatives to jointly combat the pandemic. Now, with the launch of the COVID-19 Vaccination Programme by the government, QHMS is pleased to play our part and will be operating one of the larger Community Vaccination Centres in the Kwai Tsing district through public private collaboration, as well as providing vaccination in our clinics through our QHMS mobile app booking function.

In line with government requirements, the Community Vaccination Centre in Osman Ramju Sadick Memorial Sports Centre, Kwai Tsing district to be operated by QHMS will open on 6 March and have 16 to 20 vaccination stations. QHMS will arrange for over 35 medical professionals at the centre, ensuring a sufficient number of doctors, nurses and healthcare professionals are present to explain the vaccination process, handle vaccination procedures, observe recipients for any physical reactions post-vaccination, and deliver the daily capacity of 2,500 to 3,000 vaccination jabs.

In terms of vaccination in private clinics, nearly 70 doctors from Quality HealthCare have joined the programme to provide in-clinic services. Starting from 3 March, the public will be able to make an appointment via the QHMS mobile app and receive reminders accordingly. Moreover, a designated hotline (8100 1094) has been established for the public to listen to information about COVID-19 vaccine and how to make appointments via QHMS mobile app.

A number of measures to better facilitate vaccination procedures in our QHMS clinics will be implemented. Upon arrival at any QHMS clinic, members of the public who have made appointments will be guided through the vaccination process by dedicated staff. They will then be required to sign an agreement before our healthcare professionals complete the inoculation. They need to rest for a recommended thirty minutes after receiving the vaccination. Healthcare professionals will also be observing them and providing support as needed.

"As one of the largest private medical service providers in Hong Kong, Quality HealthCare has engaged in resource allocation to support the COVID-19 Vaccination Programme - leading the operation of the Kwai Tsing District Community Vaccination Centre as well as offering in-clinic vaccination services conducted by our doctors. We will arrange for the necessary resources and training to ensure all existing clinic services are maintained while supporting the scheme. We have rolled out a series of educational information on our designated webpage to enhance public understanding about vaccinations and encourage the public to be vaccinated. With Hong Kong receiving the vaccination dosages, we are eager to play our part and share our medical expertise so that people can resume their regular lives as soon as possible," said Dr. Chow Yat, Executive Medical Director of Quality HealthCare.

"Since the outbreak of COVID-19, we have done our utmost to safeguard public health by actively cooperating with the government's anti-epidemic policies, including participating in the Enhanced Laboratory Surveillance Programme and supporting Community Testing Centres. With our professional team, equipment and experience at Quality HealthCare, we hope to continue to provide timely support through the Public Private Partnership (PPP) and offer help delivering vaccinations at the Community Vaccination Centre and in our private clinics, as well as participating in outreach programmes in the coming future," Dr. Chow added.
