What is COVID-19 Vaccination Programme?
To safeguard public health, the Government is implementing a territory-wide COVID-19 Vaccination Programme free of charge for eligible persons.
Eligible persons who have not received the first three doses (i.e. initial doses) of vaccine and have never been infected are recommended to get free vaccination under this programme.
Besides, upon completion of initial doses, eligible persons belonging to priority groups can receive free additional vaccine booster at least 180 days after their last dose or recovery from COVID-19 infection (whichever is later) under the Government Programme, regardless of the number of vaccine doses they received in the past.
Who are eligible to receive free COVID-19 vaccine under the programme?
Hong Kong residents and non-Hong Kong residents belonging to the groups as specified in this file can generally not eligible for receiving receive any COVID-19 vaccination vaccines free of charge under the Government COVID-19 vaccination programme, according to the latest recommended vaccination schedule. Which priority groups are eligible to receive free 2023/24 additional booster?
- Individuals aged 50 or above
- Persons aged 6 months or above and with immunocompromising conditions
- Pregnant women
- Healthcare workers
- Persons aged 18 to 49 years with underlying comorbidities

Who are eligible to take the test?
People who received two doses of COVID-19 vaccine at least two weeks/ Inbound travellers who have fully vaccinated to shorten compulsory quarantine time.

The symptoms of COVID-19 could be very mild. You are advised to seek medical advice promptly when you are feeling unwell or in doubt about your own health conditions (even if having very mild symptoms only), so that appropriate diagnosis and management can be given at the earliest possible time.

Government's COVID-19 RT-PCR Test HK$300 up (depending on different clinics)

B. Asymptomatic individuals
Quality HealthCare is now providing RT-PCR tests to the public. People who are asymptomatic can choose to collect their deep throat saliva samples at home. By using the WHO-approved reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) test technology, the test can detect the presence of unique genomic markers of the SARS-CoV-2 virus - the culprits of COVID-19.
The test includes medical consultation for our doctors to assess the clients’ physical condition and detect the genomic markers of the SARS-CoV-2 virus. This serves as a screening for the risk of COVID-19 infection.

What are the differences among the 2 vaccines that are available in Hong Kong and how do they work?
