Respiratory System, which is subordinate to the Internal Medicine, is responsible for examining, diagnosing and treating the diseases related to the respiratory system. This speciality covers the upper respiratory tract, lungs, chest wall and respiratory system.


Common respiratory diseases include: asthma, sleep apnoea, bronchitis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (sputum), upper respiratory tract infection, lower respiratory tract infection, hypersensitivity pneumonitis, bronchiectasis, pulmonary emphysema, asthma, byssinosis, pulmonary fibrosis, sarcoidosis, pleural effusion, pneumoconiosis, pulmonary edema, pulmonary vascular disease, tumours of respiratory system and lung cancer.
